Today, the Parliament of Catalonia has taken a historic step with the approval of the Asbestos Eradication Act 2026. A crucial law to protect public health, labour health and environmental health. The law addresses a long-standing debt with thousands of affected individuals, and ensure a future free from a carcinogen that has impacted generations.  This milestone is the result of decades of work by associations, patient groups, healthcare professionals, and organizations that have tirelessly advocated for justice and prevention. A day that strengthens our collective commitment to safety, remembrance, and public health.
